Häfele enters strategic partnership with HOMAG for new competence center

Häfele has officially inked a deal with HOMAG, the world’s leading provider of integrated solutions for woodworking production, to become strategic partners for the newly-opened Competence Center for Digital Production in Binh Duong, Vietnam.

Under the agreement, Häfele and HOMAG will collaborate to train carpenters across the region to be industry 4.0-ready from manufacturing to installation with quality wood and hardware from Häfele and advanced machinery and software from HOMAG.

Speaking of the center’s significance at the signing ceremony, Mr. Bernd Kahnert – HOMAG Senior Consultant, said digitalization has been a key topic for HOMAG as a part of their integrated solution philosophy that makes our customers ready for industry 4.0. In many countries around the world, customers are already using HOMAG CAD/CAM systems that allow them to go seamless from Point of Sales into Production with an increased flexibility, reduced delivery time and superior quality. Together with our long time experience in factory layout, high quality machines, software solutions and processes, we can offer our customers a turnkey solution that provides them a decisive advantage over their competitors in the market.

Both HOMAG and Häfele are perceived as leaders in their respective fields and therefore this cooperation is of strategic value for the development and distribution of specialized knowledge in the region.

According to Mr. Dominik Fruth – General Director of Häfele Vietnam, digitalized production can help Vietnamese furniture manufacturers address long-term challenges, namely rising labor cost and limited access to qualified labor. They will also be able to meet customers’ increasing demand for smart and customized furniture which can be delivered within a short time.
